Adventures to Remember at Pioneers
Our amazing Year 6 pupils had an unforgettable time during their week-long residential trip to The Pioneers Activity Centre in Shropshire. An annual event, the experience was designed to positively challenge pupils, offering them the opportunity to participate in a range of daring activities that would strengthen their resilience and develop their teamwork skills.
Our learners were joined by pupils from Highcliffe Primary School, and Riverside Primary School. They set off for the centre on Monday morning, arriving in the early afternoon.
During their stay, pupils tackled vast climbing walls, zoomed down the zip wire, maintained their composure on high ropes, and embraced their inner Robin Hood with archery.
In their downtime, they had fun exploring the forests and surrounding countryside, including the chance to build shelters. In the evenings, pupils gathered around warm campfires to sing traditional songs; on other occasions, they danced their hearts out during disco celebrations, while cosy film nights also proved a popular choice.
Throughout the week, pupils not only overcame physical challenges – with some conquering personal fears – but also experienced significant personal growth, recognising the importance of pushing boundaries and acquiring new skills.
A key part of a pupil’s development, the traditional Year 6 trip provides an invaluable opportunity for pupils to gain independence and improve their social skills – traits that will serve them well as they transition to secondary school and beyond!
We are incredibly proud of our pupils. They behaved impeccably throughout the week and were an absolute credit to the school!
