Art Exhibition Attracts Approving Audience
Last month, Hallam Fields Primary School hosted their whole-school end-of-year art exhibition; an amazing opportunity for children across all year groups to showcase some of the superb artwork they produced this term.
EYFS children created amazing animal silhouettes which they glued onto coloured backgrounds. The year one Bears moulded their own clay figures - based on the work of British sculptor Antony Gormley - whilst year two painted a fiery landscape based on The Great Fire of London. Putting a modern spin on it, though, the children included some iconic landmarks such as London Bridge, Big Ben and the London Eye.
Up in Key Stage Two, the year three children, suitably inspired by their research on Stephanie Peters’ natural disasters artwork, created their own pastel-based colourings of erupting volcanoes.
The Badgers in year four, created their own printing blocks based on their India topic. Continuing the pattern trend, meanwhile, year five, created their own tile printings, inspired by their work on early Islamic geometric and vegetal patterns.
Asif watching an episode of ‘Art Attack,’ the children’s work was superimposed onto walls in an ‘e-gallery’ which then flicked through all of the submitted pieces, thus allowing everybody to marvel in the delight of the creativity on display.
Alongside their illuminating pieces of art, each child also produced a linked piece of writing; these ranged from reflections of their work to newspaper articles.
“We would like to thank the children for their efforts alongside all the adults who supported and we are looking forward to hosting our next exhibition in the autumn term,” said Mr Spedding.
