Eco Ambassadors Soar in Big School Birdwatch Success

In mid-February, our enthusiastic Eco Ambassadors eagerly participated in the Big School Birdwatch.

Organised by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), the event encouraged thousands of schools across the country to pick up their binoculars and explore their local area, identifying which species of bird are prevalent there.

Our pupils took a delightful stroll around the surrounding Birstall area, spending an hour keenly observing their environment. They gazed high and low, spotting different species of birds.

After an exciting afternoon searching, eventually the magpie was identified the most popular bird around Hallam Fields!

The event was a great success and the pupils embraced the opportunity to get outside and explore nature. It not only educated them about local wildlife but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

The Eco Ambassadors are already looking forward to next year's birdwatch!
