Hallam Fields community take on the colour dash

Our school field was a blizzard of colour, laughter and infectious enthusiasm before half-term, with pupils, staff and parents participating in the annual colour dash with Lifting Children’s Hopes (LCH).

In the crisp summer sunshine, pupils – many accompanied by their parents – darted around a course set up on the field, while staff – cunningly positioned at various stations – hurled paint at them; red, orange, yellow and green, the field, and many of the pupils, resembled a veritable rainbow by the end of the event!

While hugely enjoyable, there was also a serious element that underpinned the event.

Prior to the dash, representatives from LCH came into Hallam Fields and delivered an engaging assembly. They gave our children an eye-opening insight into the wonderful work they do – which includes supporting local children facing disadvantage and providing them with support, experiences and opportunities that bring joy.

As part of the colour dash, following the assembly, sponsorship forms were distributed amongst the children, who were then tasked with raising as much money as possible to support the crucial work LCH do. Prizes are awarded to those children who raise the most!

Following the colour dash, and after all the contributions had been totted up, Mrs Sultana proudly announced that the school had raised an amazing £2831 a testament to the generosity of our brilliant school community!
