Young Tree Champion

Congratulations to Hallam Fields Year 2 pupil Neha, who was recently crowned Key Stage 1 winner in the Young Tree Champion’s Speaking Up for Trees and Nature Competition.

An annual UK-wide educational programme, the competition invites pupils to find their voice for nature by recording passionate and creative speeches about the importance and beauty of trees and nature.

After submitting their speeches, five Hallam Fields pupils were selected as national finalists, with Neha chosen as one of the winners.

The Tree Council said they “loved Neha’s entry and were particularly impressed by her positive tone and cheerful delivery.”

As a reward, Neha was invited to attend an awards event at St. Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff.

There, she was officially presented with her award and performed her speech in front of a live audience!

What a fantastic achievement. Well done, Neha!
